large_editThe demand for Permanent cosmetics is growing year on year so once you’ve found the passion and the drive to succeed in Permanent Cosmetics, what steps should take next to ensure your dream career becomes your reality?

Do your research

Really think about what kind of course you want to take part in and how you would like to learn. You’ll need experienced trainers who support and guide you through your learning along with the very best working environment. After all, you will be investing money into your future so you’ll want to get the very best out of your training and journey in to your new career. Try and attend an observation day to give you a taster of what to expect and an opportunity to ask any questions you may initially have.

Work Hard and Absorb the Knowledge

Once you’ve enrolled to your course, utilise the training information, teachers and practical workshops to hone your skills and ask plenty of questions – after all, knowledge is power! At Nouveau Contour UK we use a variety of teaching techniques to help you retain as much information as possible. From pre- training materials to prepare at home, to practical workshops enabling you to perfect your technique on real life models, we cover everything to make sure you feel comfortable and confident to perform permanent cosmetics treatments which you and your clients can be proud of. The training is intense and thorough and consists of a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to firmly set you up for the future. We are passionate about being part of your entire journey as a permanent cosmetic artist from the very start. We have a dedicated online support forum for all of our students no matter where they are in their career, and support is available from Karen Betts, the Nouveau Contour Training team and also our specialist Evolve Team, which has been specifically set up to support, encouragement and guidance.

Karen Betts Launches K.B Pro Pigment Range

Posted by Sarah Gordon on July 28, 2015

Colours you can trust

The name Karen Betts is recognised as one of the leading and most dominant names in the Permanent Cosmetics Industry. But taking the industry by storm over the last 20 years; MD at Nouveau Beauty Group; one of the most reputable beauty groups in the UK and also responsible for HD Brows and Nouveau Lashes, launching Nouveau Contour – the UK’s most reputable Permanent Cosmetics Training academies,  collaborating with the Katie Piper Foundation, winning several industry awards which include the ‘Industry Leader Award 2015’ and ‘Woman of the Year at the 2014 Natwest Every Woman Awards’, amongst many other accolades, simply wasn’t enough for Karen Betts. This month, saw Karen launch K.B Pro; her very own range of permanent cosmetics pigments, developed and manufactured in the UK.

It’s no secret Karen is extremely passionate and dedicated to continue evolving and progressing in her career, to offer the most elite treatments and results for her clients, and to also ensure that all permanent cosmetics artists that train through her academies are also providing the best possible treatments and services. So it’s hardly surprising that she worked tirelessly over the last two years to develop, test and refine the pigments. Enlisting the help of her trusty Elite Permanent Cosmetics Artists, Karen’s aim was to ensure the pigments were produced to the highest possible quality and standard, so permanent cosmetics artists and medical tattoo artists around the World could deliver optimum results for their clients.

Not only do the pigments glide into the skin more effortlessly and heal true to colour, they also fade to hues that still appear perfectly natural.

There are currently 12 brow pigments, 11 eyeliner pigments and 5 adjusters available within the range. Karen has also created 4 colour collections; the Vogue Pigment collection (a vibrant eye pigment colour collection), the Back and Grey collection, the Day Brow Pigment collection and the Night Brow Collection, and there is an Adjuster collection available. What more could a permanent cosmetics artist ask for?

Well, there is also a Professional Colour Guide for the pigment range which offers invaluable insight into how to get the best from the range, select pigments, blend and adjust pigments to suit specific client skin tones, and also give in-depth summaries and case studies for each pigment.

The pigment range is now available for professionals to purchase at Nouveau Beauty Group, with introductory promotional offers which are valid for a limited time only, and the colour guide will be available to purchase shortly.

Also, in support of the her new pigment range, Karen has created K.B Pro Education, an educational forum on Facebook which professional cosmetics artists can join to gain more information and insights into the pigments and other products in the K.B Pro range. Through the forum, professionals can also benefit from exclusive advice and support from Karen and her Elite Team of cosmetics artists, alongside industry and educational updates, and professional tips.

Train the Trainer Event A Resounding Success!

Posted by Nadia Burgess on January 10, 2012

Thank you to all our fabulous trainers for attending the Nouveau Beauty Group 2012 ‘Train the Trainer’ event on the 8th/9th January.

Diane and Bridgette did a fantastic job and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time at our Yorkshire Academy. As a company we believe it’s extremely important to keep our Trainers information consistent and up to date, giving them a platform to promote their own ideas on how we can take our products and services forward. 2012 is a real year of growth for the group and our training is going from strength to strength – partly down to our dedicated team of trainers around the country.

The two days consisted of various activities and team building exercises including a three minute presentation from each trainer on either a Nouveau Lashes or LVL Lashes product, a ‘practical’ session working on our brand new ‘Flare Lash’ (more info available soon!) and some live demo’s working with various products and procedures.

Diane Plummer (Group & Training Manager) and Bridgette Softley (Director) gave in-depth presentations over the course of the two days with two of our successful trainers receiving awards;

Steven Douch wins the award for ‘Best Presentation’

Steven is a professional makeup artist and is one of our lead trainers in the area of Mineral Makeup.  With a background in special effects makeup and a freelance career spanning nine years, Steven is a real credit to the Nouveau Beauty Group Training team – congratulations on your award Steven, your presentation was a real success!

Michelle Kendall wins the award for ‘Best Team Player’

Michelle is an elite permanent makeup artist and master lash technician and, as well as running her own beauty salon in Ludlow, is one of our most valued trainers.  “When I was starting out in permanent cosmetics I never thought for a minute I’d end up working alongside the Nouveau Beauty Group, but here I am and I’ve never been happier!”.  Congratulations on winning Best Team Player Michelle.

Following the event, everyone met for an evening meal at the Burntwood Hotel in Brierley.  Great place if you’re looking for quality food in this area. The team bonded really well and we can’t wait for the next one to take place! For more information on our training courses visit http://www.nouveaubeautygroup.com

Cher Lloyd’s Beauty Evolution

Posted by Nadia Burgess on December 16, 2011

Cher Lloyd’s Beauty Evolution as featured in Heat Magazine Dec 2011.

How did she do it?  With a little help from HD Brows (amongst others) of course!

Nilam Patel – HD Brows Co-Director and official brow shaper said:

“Cher’s brows were very thin, dramatic and high on her face. We used the HD Brows Treatment over the course of 8 weeks to grow them in to a better position and shape, which softened her face.  HD Brows Grow Baby Grow Serum and HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette were my wonder products during this time”.

If you fancy your own brow revolution check out our salon finder (click here) to find your nearest HD Brows Stylist!

Looking good for the cameras

Posted by Nadia Burgess on December 13, 2011

If you’ve been watching “All About Amy”, you’ll know that Amy Childs has been setting up her own beauty salon.  I’ve been working with her on both the setting up of her salon and training her in some of the treatments she’ll be providing.  Needless to say, I’ve been caught on camera quite a lot in the last few weeks.  Whether it’s paparazzi or filming for the show, I’ve had to look my best.

With December fast moving on, all of us are going to be caught on camera – whether it’s at the work do, parties or family gatherings. And with that, I’m sure that – just like me – you’re going to want to look good in front of the cameras.  One of my top recommendations is to pay attention to your skin-tone.  Having a natural, healthy glow can transform how you look in front of the cameras, especially during the winter months.

For the show, I was lucky enough to get my hands on samples of Amy’s very own new tanning solution – it’s one of the perks of the job! Unlike a lot of tans, which can have a chemically smell when developing, Amy’s lotion smells nice –like strawberries and cream. Also, it’s right on-trend, as it’s been developed to provide a natural, sun-kissed look.

Whatever product you use, having a healthy, glowing skintone during the winter months will not only help you look better in front of the cameras, it can give you that extra touch of confidence too.
