Chantelle Richardson was born with a large red birthmark across her forehead, nose and right cheek that made the end of her nose swell up. Over the years Chantelle’s confidence began to fade and she would hide behind a fringe, plaster on makeup up – anything to help her ‘hide’ the marks on her face.
After years of tests, it was finally confirmed that Chantelle had AVM – an abnormal tangle of blood vessels, caused by misdevelopment in the womb. Chantelle’s bravery in undergoing various treatments and operations is a real testiment to her strength of character.
With help from Katie Piper and her Foundation – a charity which supports peope with facial disfigurements, and also Karen Betts – permanent cosmetics technician and MD of the prestigeous Nouveau Beauty Group training academy, Chantelle feels she can now face anything!
Chantelle says of Karen ‘she specialises in helping women like me feel beautiful again’.
